In Greek mythology (especially in Thrace), Telesforos (or Telesphoros) was a son of Asclepius and Salus. He frequently accompanied his sister, Hygieia. He was a dwarf whose face was covered with a cowl and a Phrygian cap. He symbolized recovery from illness.
