Found in Corinth, Peloponnese. A hoplite attacking to the left steps
his foot on the nude body of a fallen enemy. The perspective rendering
of the victorious warrior is remarkable. Individual details will have been
executed in colour. The monument was erected for Alkias of Phokis,
whose name is recorded in the inscription on the horizontal cornice
of the pediment that crowns the stele.
Corinthian workshop. Late 5th cent. B.C.
