Historical data

The settlement is first mentioned in a contract of 1280, as Paramithi, which is obviously wrong. In the Venetian census, we first find it under the name Paranifus in Barocci. In 1583 it is mentioned by Kastrofylakas as Paranifus apano with 28 inhabitants and Paranifus catto with 37 inhabitants. . [1] In the Turkish census of 1671 we find the Paranymphs with 18 engravings and in 1881 they came under the Municipality of Haraka. In the 1881 census, the Paranymfos had 95 Christian inhabitants. In 1928 and until 1971 they were part of the Pyrgos community. Almond is also mentioned in all the Venetian censuses and with this name in 1881 in the municipality of Harakas, with 15 Christians and 45 Muslim inhabitants. In subsequent censuses he followed the administrative fate of the Bridesmaids (community in 1971).
