Paradeisos (Παράδεισος) Kavala

Paradeisos (Paradise) (until 1926 Intzes [1]) is a village in the Municipality of Nestos in the regional unit of Kavala, in the region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace. According to the 2011 census, it has 216 inhabitants. It is located at an altitude of 60 meters, near the river Nestos. It is located 36.5 km northeast of Kavala. Trout are bred in the lakes around the village. [2] With the Kapodistrias program, he joined the municipality of Chrysoupoli, and previously belonged to the community of . [3]

The ancient city of Topeiros was located between Paradeisos and the Toxotes of Xanthi. Paradeisos at the beginning of the 20th century, had a Muslim population (511 inhabitants according to the statistics of the Greek army and 589 according to the census in 1913). After the population exchange, 114 refugee families settled in Paradeisos , with the village becoming a refugee. [4] According to the 1928 census it had 572 inhabitants, while its population increased to 672 inhabitants in the 1940 census. [5]
