Palaiovrysi (Παλαιόβρυση) Lakonia

Palaiovrysi is a village of Mani in the prefecture of Laconia and is administratively part of the municipality of Anatoliki Mani. It is the northernmost village of the villages of North Mani also known as Bardounochoria. It is located at an altitude of 480 meters. The main church of the village is Agios Nikolaos while just outside the village is the chapel of Agios Georgios and at the top of the hill Profitis Ilias is the homonymous chapel. In the area there are many natural springs, mainly manganese. Paleovrisi has a population of about 75 permanent residents while on the first Saturday after the 15th of August a big traditional festival is organized where a large crowd gathers. The main source of income is agriculture, while the area is dominated by olive green. During the Turkish occupation, the village was named Pritsa by the Slavs, which has remained to this day.
