Palaiokklisio (Παλαιοκκλήσιον) Karditsa

Palaiokklisio is a village of 1,113 inhabitants located West of the city of Karditsa and is a homonymous municipal district of the Municipality of Karditsa. The old name of the village was Isari and then it was named Paleokklisi thanks to its beautiful church. The connection of the village with the city of Karditsa by bike path is interesting. Also, the Old Church is the seat of the Olympic Church of the Old Church.

Customs - traditions - festivals

On September 7, the local church of the village, the Holy Church of the Nativity of the Virgin, celebrates the local festival, and a few days before, cycling races and a number of other events take place.

On October 26, the church of Agios Dimitrios, located east of the village, celebrates.

In 2010 he published the book "Paleokklisi: icons from yesterday", which contains images of the village and the inhabitants presenting the customs of the place. The author of the book is the current president of the village.

Education

In the old church there is now a Kindergarten, while until 2011 there was a primary school.

Given a population of more than 300 inhabitants, the community is governed by a 5-member Community Council chaired by ... (Elected - the election is expected to take place on May 26).

Α.Ο. Olympiacos of the Old Church
The A.O. Olympiacos Palaiokklisiou is a sports club which was founded in 1975. It competes in the current 2018-2019 season in the A1 EPS Karditsa. Its headquarters are, since it was created, the Stadium of the Old Church. The colors of the group are red and white, which were established by its symbol.
