Prefecture Trikala, Aithikes Municipality (Dimos Aithikon / Ethikon)

Aithikes (Greek: Αίθηκες) is a municipality in the Trikala Prefecture, Greece. Population 2744 (2001). The seat of the municipality is in Elati.

Aithikes was named after Aethikes , a barbarous Epirot clan, who lived by robbery, placed by Strabo on the Thessalian Side of Pindus. They are mentioned by Homer, who relates that the Centaurs, expelled by Peirithous from Mt. Pelion, took refuge among the Aethikes. (Homer Ilias. ii. 744; Strab. pp. 327, 434; Steph. B. s. v. Aithikia.)

Gardiki

Gardiki (older form Gardikion)

Pertouli

Pertouli (older Form Pertoulion) is a mountain village (alt. 1200 m) c. 49 km E of Trikala city. Near and around Pertouli: Tower of Hatz Gakis, 17th century stonebridge Hatzipetrou.

In Pertouli there are also buildings of the Faculty of Forestry and Natural Enviroment of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the "University Forest of Pertouli" in the region is used for research and education
