Pietro Francesco Garola

Interior of the Basilica of San Paolo in Rome

Pier Francesco Garoli or Caroli or Pietro Francesco Garola (1638–1716) was an Italian painter, active in painting

His place of birth is unclear; some sources say Garoli was born in Turin.[1] He moved to Rome where he became a professor of perspective at the Academy of St Luke.[2] He painted mainly canvases of capricci or interior vedute of churches. He created architectural designs. He also painted frescoes, including for the casino della villa del cardinal Gaspare Carpegna.[3]
