Hanns Bolz (Aachen, 22 January 1885 - Munich, 4 July 1918) was a German expressionist and cubist painter.[1][2]

Biography

Hanns Bolz studied art at the Düsseldorf Art Academy. After graduating from the academy in 1908, he went to Paris. He lived in Paris until war broke out. He rented the studio that had formerly been Pablo Picasso's. Bolz's favorite haunt in the city was the Café du Dome, where he mingled with the small German artist group that had sprung up around Purrmann and Levy. It was there that he made the acquaintance of the famous art dealer Alfred Flechtheim.
